I recruited in Atlantic City, NJ, 2010-2013. The job was horrible and stressful and I saw the bottom of the barrel when it comes to NCOs. But I'm glad I did it. I still talk to most of my recruits, none of them hate me. I recommend it, but be ready for some hard times. Hahahaha

Recruiting can be very fun and fulfilling BUT you have to make it so. If you want it to be three terrible years, you can make it like that too. The first secret is to make mission. Having fun while you are recruiting just makes that easier.
IF you are not having fun, why?

MSG Sand, I am aware you have to make mission, but on Long island in New York is one of the most difficult places to make mission. You can bring the best recruiter here and it's not going to happen.

There has always been toxic leadership...some times were worse than others. You were recruiting at a time when National attitudes toward service were actually pretty high. Trust me, it could have been worse, but those day made the best stories.
