Apparently if your break in service exceeds 3 years, you must go back to BCT. What is used as the separation date to determine that? I got off AD into the IRR in 2013, but I was in IRR until 2016.

MSG (Join to see) - Interesting. My understanding that as it sands now, a 3 year break in service requires a PS to attend BCT again. What I am unsure about is when the clock starts for that 3 year break.

SGT Jamarl Jones - The only thing I can find for PS and BCT is PS needing to go through a Warrior Transition Unit (re-integration course, basically). But I still can't find out a length of time that's required.

There was a memo from a year and a half ago that indicated that soldiers with a 3 year break in service had to go to a 6 week (instead of 10) BCT for prior service. The memo was rescinded and they started making PS with a 3 year break go to the full 10 week BCT.

Per AR 601-210 the three years starts after IRR or immediately if no time remaining
