As a barrakcks NCO, what exactly do I need in a barracks management portfolio?

I agree with the other leaders. I was the Squadron Barracks LNO. Get with all the other Barracks LNO NCOs within your unit and conduct a sync meeting so that all of you are on the same page for inspections. Also, get with your post or BDE barracks manager and see what they look at for inspections. They usually have a checklist. Another thing, someone actually signed for those barracks and those furniture as a whole, figure out who that is. Most likely it is a Senior NCO or an Officer. See your local BDE or Unit S4 for the name. See your local post housing manager for unserviceable furniture on how to replace it, but that is where the person who signed for all the furniture has to come into play because they are the ones who are supposed to call, last I've heard. One tear in a chair or a bent window blind is an unserviceable furniture. Think of your uniform. A torn trouser, missing button or peeling Velcro is considered unserviceable, so should barracks furniture. Cracks on the tile floors, ceilings, must be work-ordered for replacement. You are supposed to provide a healthy, livable and functioning conditions for Soldiers in the barracks. Your barracks is supposed to be in tip top shape. You just don't only give them rooms. CQs are supposed to report deficiencies to you and make the work orders then you follow upon those work orders. Make a spreadsheet of it. You conduct a walk through once a week or a month with the Brigade or BN/SQDRN Barracks NCO. Keep in mind, the barracks are the CSMs barracks. Your his extension on the livable conditions. If your barracks fails inspections, so does he. I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of that. Soldiers say barracks suck a$$, that's because their barracks NCO/LNO does not do their job and doesn't give a @#$%. Don't be that guy.

Names assigned with rooms, their POC info unit info; areas assigned for barracks maintenance; list of furniture in each room and any and all copies of hand receipts for furniture (if applicable); POV info (if applicable); Any and all Work Orders for those barracks both complete and incomplete...

You will need a listing of all of your soldiers room assignments, there areas of responsibilities in the barracks. You will also need a listing of all of there unit assignments and contact numbers. Just a general overview of there rooms condition and the upkeep and cleanliness of there rooms.
