In line with the new ADRP 1 (The Army Profession), Character, competency, and commitment are all traits I seek to emulate from leaders.

Character – Displays dedication and adherence to the Army values and ethics are constantly demonstrated in decisions and actions.

Competence - Always displays their ability to successfully perform their duties and to accomplish the mission with discipline and to standard.

Commitment - Constantly strives to accomplish the mission despite adversity, obstacles, and challenges. Committed to honorable service to their service and country.

I'll vote for integrity. Without it, none of the leadership traits mean a thing.

I absolutely agree, if your word means nothing how can you expect people to follow you.

Admitting ones mistakes will go along way in building the other pillars of leadership.

Admitting is only a piece of it. Knowing that others can make mistakes, forgiving them, and helping them grow as a result, pays dividends.
