I have just recently enlisted and my contract comes with option 40 and being a ranger has kinda always been my dream. I just want to make sure that RASP is guaranteed and that this contract is not total bs.

Basically, yes. Just don't fail your Basic or AIT or Airborne School, and the Army will send you to RASP from Airborne School. I'm not trying to make that sound hard. Almost anyone can pass Basic. I don't know anything about CBRN AIT. Airborne School: just pass the PT test and don't fall out on the runs or refuse to jump or make a monumentally stupid safety mistake and you'll be okay.
RASP is hard, especially Cole Range. Read the book Sua Sponte. Some stuff has changed, but not much.

Nothing has changed. RASP was exactly how the book described it for me.

My son is there now, they no longer allow Airborne before completing RASP. You will get sent to Airborne after RASP. Too many guys were dropping their Ranger contracts once they finished Airborne.

Tina Fl - I've heard that recently. Good money-saving move. I think guys can still get Airborne for free if they do 18X, though.

If you pass the benchmarks, you get RASP. The only people who say otherwise didn't meet the standards. It's all you at this point.

Option 40 if indeed is what you signed for guarantees you an airborne slot and RASP 1.

Maurice Mark got med dropped. Didn't keep myself healthy like I should have. It was hard but not impossible. If you're trying to go, just don't quit and you'll get through.

Maurice Mark best way to get better at pushups is to do pushups. Just pass a PT test first then worry about ranger pushups
