Aside from obvious assets, what do you pack in your assault pack for the range?

A shit load of poggie snacks, smokes, xtra socks, an xtra shirt, an xtra poncho and anything else that would make life more comfortable depending on the duration of the stay. Always be creative.

All the regular stuff and then a wet weather top just in case. Extra oil. Spare ear pro, cause someone forgot it guaranteed. Probably some wipes.

First...Medical Kit. Always have a way to stop the bleeding, just in case. Comms. A phone if I am local, a Sat Phone if I am not in cell range. After that, the usual. Don't forget to bring water!! I also bring a repair kit to do repairs and maintenance on whatever weapons I am bringing. Basic stuff. Targets, stands, empty sandbags in case it gets windy. 100 mph tape and extra staples for the staple gun. A good spotting scope can eliminate a lot of walking and a GoPro can fix a lot of bad habits.

After re-reading it is obvious this question is about an organized range day. My comments were for those days I take people to the range. Reading is fundamental. Since I finally read the question, I recommend appropriate clothing/layers, snacks and water, sunscreen and a small first aid kit with bandages in case you get a minor cut, like happens to me every time I go to the range. Mostly, bring a good attitude and have fun.
