My friend expressed to me that they are looking to leave, or at least take a break from military service. They have been in the Reserves 10 years, and an officer for 5 of them. They have not felt their time has been rewarding lately or well spent, and are feeling burned out. They are considering trying to move into the IIR, and are looking for advice on how to do this, pitfalls, and any other guidance or noted you can provide.

If he goes into the IRR there are ways to still get points for good years. I did it myself while I was working overseas for a couple of years. Beats having to do them in the end of he decides to retire at some point.

The grass is not as green as you think, it'could be crab grass.I suggest that you first examine why you joined the reserves in the first place? What are you passionate about? What are you looking for outside of the reserves. These are some of the questions to should consider asking within yourself. In today's landscape a bird in the hand is worth than 10 in the bush.
