I just saw a pic on USAWTFM of a Soldier re-enlisting at the south pole. I personally would love to re-enlist at the NYSE and ring the opening bell. Where would you like to re-enlist at/where would OF you liked to re-enlist at for those that are out? And where was your re-enlistment(s) at?

My last re-enlistment was down at Lackland AFB outside the tear gas chamber at BMT. The next one I may do level A hazmat suit in South Korea...we'll see.

Nice choice on the gas chamber. Would you consider doing a re-enlistment inside the chamber?

My first reup was done while I was stationed with the Navy's Antarctic C130 squadron. They have since disestablished, but the pic I have was with one of the snow ski equipped airplanes in the background. Small world.

I don't do well in cold weather, but think it would be a good experience to be stationed in Antarctica.

I would love to be stationed in Antartica (man of the cold). Well..... I would like to visit and determine if I would "love" to stay there haha

I wanted to try to put together reenlisting for my final reup, not where, but by whom. I wanted to get the LT that reenlisted me the first time, to also reenlist me for my last time. I was able to contact the officer, a LT (Navy) during my first reenlistment, but he could not make it across the country for my final reup. Instead, I chose to have the most junior officer perform my reenlistment. It was entertaining, as I was way less nervous than she was. I actually had to guide her through the Oath. It was pretty funny.

Sounds like it was entertaining and memorable for you and the LT. You will always be here first re-up, and nothing can change that. Sorry to hear he was unable to make it. I wonder if anyone has ever re-enlisted via Skype. Considering everything is being done digitally.

It was, and she was super cute. That was also only the 2nd reup to have with my family present (of 5 reups).

When I made the decision to ask her, it was so that I could be her first. I was also that LTs (first reup) first reup.

At what location would (or did) you want to re-enlist?

The Old Guard's horse stables. I am fond of horses and have been riding for years. Also it would be an honor to serve with the Old Guard at some point.

Best one was in a C130 right before jumping into Sicily DZ, in Fort Bragg. Second best, in the Atlantic Ocean at sunrise when I was stationed in Miami. Great times.

This is a tough one, especially if you had the power of choosing any spot in the world. I re-enlisted while deployed to Iraq a few years ago, and that was special to me. If I were to choose something stateside, I would do so in a location somewhat close to the majority of my family members.

I wanted to reenlist in the backseat of a USMC F/A-18. I thought it would be cool and had some on the inside to grease the rails for me. They failed and I reenlisted on the parade deck. Another time I wanted to reenlist half way down the repel tower, but interfered with the recruits, so I reenlisted on the parade desk. Another time I wanted to reenlist on top of Mount Motherfucker in my LAV, but we bent a strut and while on the parade deck, I pulled out my flask, took a hit of Gentleman Jack, handed it to the XO, Major Tom Protzeller, who I referred to as "Tom" and reenlisted on the parade deck. Moral of the story, just plan it on the parade deck.

Back in the day at FT Irwin, if permission was granted, SMs and their Re-Enlistment Officer could catch a Blackhawk ride to the top of Tiefort Mountain and do the ceremony there. That was my choice of location but by the time my re up came about, that particular option was put on hold, so I had re-enlisted in front of my Company HQ right in front of the big red engineer castle. ESSAYONS!!!

Well if I did reenlist, it probably wouldn't have been anywhere crazy, but being an Air Winger, I'd probably want to incorporate some aircraft into it somehow. Though since you brought it up, I did see a video of someone reenlisting in the gas chamber. It was pretty funny and motivating at the same time.

If we are going big then I would go for the Oval Office in the White House. I'm not fond of the current president so I'd be ok if he was off golfing.
