Recently an Indian branch of Al Qaeda established itself and set out to attack an American Aircraft Carrier on 9/11. The effort was the groups first terrorist attack and a complete failure. There is something to be said for recon. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/09/12/alqaeda-india-attacks-ship_n_5814418.html?cps=gravity

Apparently not. Actually, I'm wondering if they knew what an aircraft carrier looks like.

And AQ claimed responsibility. I think I would have said "I don't know them" instead.

It has to be a ruse, Colonel. They unleash Larry, Moe, and Curly to get us all to think they're bumbling idiots, then the real bad guys show up.

You would think the sheer size of any Navy vessel alone would trigger common sense in terrorist using a small boat. They will get shot at every time as they attempt to approach a ship.

Nobody said common sense was a requirement to be a terrorist. :-)
