Australia has stopped a planned beheading in their own country. Is this evidence enough to move the West to real action?

The police and intelligence agencies in Australia have stopped an iminent plot to behead random civilians in Australia. If we think this sort of thing can't happen here, we are delusional. Now that they (ISIL) have taken action to bring beheadings and terror to the West, are we going to see action? What should be done? Will this provide emphasis to intelligence agency actions and their necessity WITHIN our own borders? These were Australian civilians being monitored by their own government.

The problem is that these problems there are pervasive and they suffer no illusions but time and again have felt threatened and on the verge of war. I would go there now as a civilian because in spite of the inclement weather, I love the people there.

The problem is that the "peaceful Muslims" aren't policing themselves. Don't want to be branded with a wide stereotype of being a relgion of vicious radical terrorist? Clean up your own house and get the lunatic fringe under control.

It certainly should be. I believe that the thwarted threat in Australia should be an even louder wake-up call on this issue.

I would hope so, Chief. These guys are criminals too, so they are going to go after a soft target. Think the elderly and children. This is going to get a lot worse. Buckle up, folks. You don't need to blow up a skyscraper to be influential.

Law enforcement bulletin warned of ISIS urging jihad attacks on US soil
Islamic State fighters will ramp up their calls on so-called lone wolves to attack members and facilities of the U.S. military in response to American airstrikes, a law enforcement bulletin obtained by FoxNews.com warned last July, a month before President Obama mounted an aerial attack on the terror group.

My sentiments exactly. Attacking Soldiers is a hard target. My home is relatively well armed. I am always paranoid however. Always looking for a fight that is about to happen. The harder a target you appear, the less likely you are to be a target.

Unfortunately most people live with their head in the sand and won't take threats seriously until the unthinkable happens. I've been debating with my more liberal friends about the how illegal immigration is a threat as terrorist could sneak across the border. They poo-poo'd that idea as "it's not a real threat because we've never seen terrorists try it". Oh, I wish I could talk to them now.....

It's not death from above that we have to worry about, or death from without...it's death from within.
