Newley awarded 100% and live in Illinois, any suggestions on auto insurance and homeowner insurance? Are any specific insurance companies better to deal with deal or any to stay away from. I had USAA for a long time till I found out they go through progressive. switched directly to progressive and saved over 100$ a month. but that was years ago. any suggestions are going to be greatly appreciated.

We use an independent insurance agency. They represent many companies and can find the best deal for your situation.

Personally for homeowners insurance i prefer using a broker, let someone else do the shopping around and prepare comparisons. They usually have access to smaller insurance companies as well as the big ones, and it gives you a local point of contact.

Are you looking to bundle them? There are a couple of other posts similar to yours if you want to use the search bar. Here are two: https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/446425.what-are-the-best-options-for-bundling-renter-s-and-auto-insurance?loc=similar_main&pos=0

What are the best options for bundling renter's and auto insurance? | RallyPoint
I am looking for opinions on insurance. We are PCS back state side to FT Stewart and are looking to get new renters and car insurances. We would like to bundle the two. I have no issue with choosing to go with a someone I can also bank with (ie. USAA). I honestly just want to know if there is someone better out there than USAA.
