Any recommendations on how to train for the heavy?
I have a bad back but I still want to complete the heavy category just once.
How soon do I need to start training? It's in March.
I heard packing your back pack with certain items makes it better but I was never told what they were or how to pack it.
Any advise would greatly be appreciated.

Yes, I actually completed it three times. Every time was just as fun. Lol painful too. Last year was the worst due to the heat. Normally it’s between 20-50 degrees, last year was 86 and miserable. I almost didn’t finish and i was two hours slower. You need to hydrate really well.

SGM (Join to see) 'Heavy', I do not know about. Aging processes and arthritis, I do know about.!

"DROP" (w/o bothering to say 'for 20'), was my favorite one word command! Remembering how my shoulders grate as I turn over in bed at night, I restrain myself from executing "DROP" anytime at this stage of my life. It is difficult; yesterday, I was at a local recruiting station watching two future Soldiers endure a bit of training. I refrained from demonstrating, "DROP"!

Sometime, one must think smart and preserve already deteriorating body parts! Y'all youngsters will soon be smarter, the only requirements are time on earth!
