Being a Veteran with 40% disability. I want to know will the VA assist me in sending my son to college? Monetary or some scholarship?

The VA is changing the service requirements for the Post-9/11 GI Bill so this new info may help:
From the VA Press Release: "As this change goes into effect on August 1, 2020, eligible Veterans can use the GI Bill Comparison Tool to determine the entitlement they can receive for their education, training, and housing."

No, your disability rating has nothing to do with it unless you are 100% permanently disabled, died in the line of service, or were a PoW. You would have had to transfer the post 9/11 GI Bill benefits to them for them to receive benefits. (Not sure about the GI bill that came before the post 9/11).
