Not in a position to talk about today, but I was a military brat and attended 11 schools in 12 years and only once 2 years in a row. I had no problem adjusting, new friends came with school, sports and hanging at the base bowling alley.

I'm not in the military, but I have moved to three different states over the past few years and have three kids. I believe that relocation can affect your children, and how they adjust. However, as parents it is our job to stay close to them and make sure they are not overwhelmed with change, and help them through it.

Being in the education industry, I'm curious. How have your kids adjusted in school with frequent relocation? Is making new friends an issue?

Thanks for your responses! Parents do play a very critical role in making these transitions easier. If kids are getting the support at home, they will likely be much more confident in making these adjustments and forming new friendships. So important!
