Being in the Service it's about achieving successful missions. Outside of Service, have you translated those skills? What helped the most?

To answer your question, I chose to live where my professional skill set had the most value. They always say do what you are passionate about, but I saw where I was headed and decided to be passionate about what I do. The better at it I got, the easier the passion came.

Please... One I saved from years ago that really was well presented. Not named so it's designed anonymously. Thank you.

CSM Chuck Stafford - my brother as an executive coach says 33% family/life 33% service to others 33% work. I think that helps keep balance and perspective.

Debbie Pomeroy Cloud Traits picked up in the military: Discipline, determination, passion, and goal setting are great tools to carry forward to the civilian world. What worked for me was my passion for the Space program. I used that to set goals of working, going to school, obtaining my degree, and then working on the Space program. My sense of purpose along with my passion allowed me to work for the Space Shuttle program from start of the program to the final Space Shuttle flight, Atlantis, July, 2011. It was only in the later years of my career, that I learned the value of networking. Before that, I though of it as more of sucking up to people, since some people did that to advance their careers. Having a purpose and passion makes work something to look forward to.
