Red Tails. Terrance Howards' portrayal of a commanding officer was spot on.

Alright, this thread keeps popping up in my radar so I'll break down and throw out my favorites. I haven't been able to weed through every response on here so I'm certain that i'm repeating but anyway...
My favorite foreign military movie is Attack Force Z since it's a 1982 Australian flick it's pretty underrated.

Bravo Two Zero is my second favorite foreign military movie. Also a Desert Storm movie so that's my era...
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120617/
My favorite Desert Storm movie is Three Kings...not for accuracy, because that's atrocious! but it is a funny flick man.

And finally there is Taps...now it's not really underrated but it gets forgotten I think. This was a great flick despite Tom Cruise's presence...

Attack Force Z was excellent, and pretty damn intense. That was the first time I heard of the ANZACs

"Bravo Two Zero" w/Sean Bean gave me my first glimpse of what it's like to be snoopin & poopin as well a POW, and a 1998 TV movie called "The Wall" with a handful of mini-stories of names on the wall and the real life lesson that it's not always a happy ending.

I'd have to agree. Great film, that next to no one has ever heard of, and rarely even shown on TV.
