To all those gamers out there. I have noticed in the past few years change in the plots of the Call of Duty franchise. It seems to have forgotten it's roots. Call of Duty was created showcasing the valor and heroism of ordinary men. Men who answered the CALL OF DUTY! Now it just seems like it's giant shoot'em with gimicks. I am right? am I wrong? I am crazy?

I am with you. The games have gone more of the Hollywood route than the historical military fiction route. My favorite part of these games was the cut scenes in between the levels when they showed the maps and gave you the big picture...
All gamers want now-a-days though is online mp. Developers are sadly realizing that they do not need to put a lot of time into the storylines as long as they have a kick @$$ mp experience (or somewhat engaging)
I feel like this ties into the growing idea that we should all stop pre-ordering content... but that is a much longer topic.

By the time it is all said and done, you have paid over 120+ for each installment of it. This, and the trend of making all games CoD has lead me to give up on them as a hobby. I'll go dust off the old Wii and play my 8 and 16 bit classics. At least those know they are still games.

Thankfully I do not have a lot of free time outside of my two jobs, but lately I only play online with my brother in law. I have also noticed that I am reading more, trying to scribble more words on paper, and I would love to get a little workspace to start slapping paint on warhammer models....

CoD is garbage anymore; its become much like Guitar Hero. They spit out a new one every year, don't do many improvements, and people eat it up. I stopped after MW3; MW2 had an amazing story that MW3 ruined.

Wether we want to admit it or not that Call Of Duty has been the game that a lot of military veterans play because it does simulate military training and operations. Call Of Duty has gotten away from showcasing the valor of soldiers and war and I think that the Veterans that do play should speak out to the Call Of Duty franchise and owners and express our concern.
