I’m here at AIT and I have this drill sergeant that absolutely hates everything me and another person in our platoon does the first 2 weeks we did get off on the wrong hand but I just wasn’t use to the freedom coming fresh out of basic I told her that and I’ve been staying under the radar for a while but she just looks for any and everything to chow us out about or give us a counseling so today we had a random room expectation and our rooms got trashed me and the guy she hates also so what she did was thrower everything out our drawers and brought the females to our room and told them that this is how we live and we’re dirty so she took our phones and a couple more guys I gave her a phone but she said I had more than one phone so she made me open my locker and searched through my bags in my locked locker with no permission and found a old phone I was wrong for not turning it in but everyone is telling me to go talk to my 1Sgt because it wasn’t right how I was the only one that got searched and she was never given permission to search any of my personal belongings she just decided to and made me open my locker should I talk to my first sergeant about this? Or is this just something I should just deal with 8 more weeks because I think she is trying to get me put out and I can’t take it

Is this real situation? Phones, internet conversations, questioning your DS's ability to do their job... Wow, I'm astonished to think this could possibly be true. And if it is, shame on you.

Instead of wining about it put it behind you and get your stuff together. If the DS has you on their radar it’s because you need to get more squared away. In the example that you gave, the DS said that you had something that was unauthorized and you did. You just come clean in the first place. Change your mindset and look for ways to do better.

As a former BCT company commander and now an IG, I have several thoughts on this. Yes, for health and welfare, we will do intrusive inspections, especially if you've given us probable cause to do so, which you alluded to in your post. And if you think what the DS did was over the line, don't even consider Officer Candidate School, where an entire barracks gets the tornado treatment, with a very short suspense to bring it back to standard. Finally, from an IG perspective, I'm getting only one side of a story. Every story has three sides, yours, the DS's and the truth, somewhere in the middle. If you do go to an IG, we will encourage you to use your chain of command first (one of the five questions is whether or not the chain of command is aware of your situation). Also, the new Army rule is that cases almost always get referred by the IG to your chain of command for investigation, anyway, unless my directing authority says otherwise.

Don't listen to barracks lawyers, that equals trouble.

And finally, do a good self-examination to see how you may have brought this on yourself by your actions, and whether or not you're telling the whole truth. The Army is not a democracy, nor is it Burger King. Standards are set, lawful orders are given and followed.

Holy shit. How the fuck did you even graduate high school? This post is a nightmare to read and understand. From what I did gather in your abomination of grammar is that perhaps you should grow up, take some responsibility, and get your shit together. If you can’t handle it, I hear Burger King is hiring. I doubt the manager there will search your shit.

First of all, I think the AIT person is a male, not a female.. It's the DI who is female and this may be part of his problem . Seems to me I remember an old Army saying: "Soldier, straighten up and solider. " Go do that.

Sounds like you're one of those "entitled" little millennial sh*ts. You seem to believe that we (other members of the armed forces) owe you something. You may have grown up in a society that gave you medals for just showing up, for putting forth the minimal effort necessary, or providing a safe "hugging room" when the world refuses to recognize your innate value.
Your drill sergeant may dislike you, but more likely she is just trying to teach you enough to survive what's coming. You need to have water in your canteen not liquor, you cannot abuse drugs, you cannot fall asleep on guard, and you cannot run when you look up and see the Peoples Liberation Army or Iranian Revolutionary guard bearing down on you.
You need to grow a pair and get with the program. If you cannot, you need to be removed from our midst.
