I’m here at AIT and I have this drill sergeant that absolutely hates everything me and another person in our platoon does the first 2 weeks we did get off on the wrong hand but I just wasn’t use to the freedom coming fresh out of basic I told her that and I’ve been staying under the radar for a while but she just looks for any and everything to chow us out about or give us a counseling so today we had a random room expectation and our rooms got trashed me and the guy she hates also so what she did was thrower everything out our drawers and brought the females to our room and told them that this is how we live and we’re dirty so she took our phones and a couple more guys I gave her a phone but she said I had more than one phone so she made me open my locker and searched through my bags in my locked locker with no permission and found a old phone I was wrong for not turning it in but everyone is telling me to go talk to my 1Sgt because it wasn’t right how I was the only one that got searched and she was never given permission to search any of my personal belongings she just decided to and made me open my locker should I talk to my first sergeant about this? Or is this just something I should just deal with 8 more weeks because I think she is trying to get me put out and I can’t take it

OMG. This has to be a joke. WTF is a recruit doing with either a phone or internet access to post this? Also.. you’re offended? Being offended is an emotion and you better get over that crap now or your life is going to be hell snowflake.
Here’s the only 3 rules you need to succeed in Basic and AIT. So sit down, shut up and read: Rule 1. You are 1 link in a long chain, Be the strongest link! Rule 2. Be where you need to be early and do exactly what your told without hesitation and to It to the absolute best of your ability. Never accept mediocrity! Rule 3. If you are offended or feel like you know better.. See Rule 1.

Oh Whoppee....You're in the US Military...stop complaining...It's all about breaking you down and getting rid of habits you don't even know you have...and making the team cohesive, rational, and responsive. You haven't even been exposed to an undercover MP yet where jail is the end result.

And take advantage of the military education (military and college) while YOU are in the service.

Jason M, They have every right to search everything in your person or gear. Knowing that, most play by the rules.
Should you be captured as a POW, they're going to stick their hand up your ass and pull your tongue out of it. For Gods sake, grow a pair or get the hell out.

If you look at soldiers in formation, you’ll notice 1/2 step out of line is all it takes to stand out. One-half step ahead will lead to rapid promotion and selection for schools. One-half step behind leads to extra inspections, extra duty, and in the fullness of time, the opportunity to pursue new career options. You can start your career training by saying, “Paper or plastic?” Or “Would you like fries with that?”

My my. We are the privileged one aren’t we? You joined the military, the military didn’t join you. Also, the military over all is 200+ years old. We normally try to keep things on an even keel. Things just seem to work a lot better that way. As a result, the military is in no way going to change for you. When you raised your right hand and said “I do”, YOU agreed to change. I would suggest you get up in the morning, listen for the pop and grow up. Take some responsibility for your own sad pathetic life. Otherwise, walk. Oh yeah, that pop you’re listening for is when your head pops outta your ass.

First time in your life you ever been told you’re not wonderful? Get some character wrapped in some integrity and cinch it up tight. You’re whiny BS is latently lying the ground work for the conduct that can be expected of you through the rest of your life. Intelligently mature quickly or go away.

PVT McHuntly, this is a case of "you made your bed, now sleep in it." Getting a DS's attention happens in one of two ways: exceptional performance (that's a good thing) and subpar performance (that's a bad thing). Which do you think you fall into? Unfortunately for you, now you have to work to change the DS's perspective. YOUR ACTIONS dictated where you are now. YOUR ACTIONS continue to show that you don't have the discipline your DS demands (as she should), and now, YOUR ACTIONS are going to get you in even hotter water by even considering going to the 1SG to complain when you got caught violating the rules. See a trend here?

Here's my advice. Keep your mouth shut, get rid of anything you aren't supposed to have, do what you are supposed to be doing, stop listening to your platoon mates (they have no more knowledge about the military than you do, they are steering you down the wrong path), and get your head on straight. Take responsibility for your actions. Suck it up. Unfortunately, you and your battle buddy get to work harder than everyone else in the platoon now, because you have to prove yourselves worthy. Everyone else seems to be figuring it out but you two.

One more thing: since apparently you are allowed to have phones and internet access in AIT now, go to Amazon and order a copy of the book Extreme Ownership. Read it. Reflect. And stop blaming other people for the mess you found yourself in.

Keep your sh.. straight and she won't have any reason to question your character. Random means exactly that. Random. Any person any time. If you feel she is targeting you, then take up your chain of command. Now is the chance to prove yourself, if you so choose. I've never had to go out of my way to prove others wrong. They usually hang themselves.

Sounds like a young millennial that's been watching to much youtube from the video lawyer experts. Welcome to the military. I would highly suggest you talk to your 1st Sgt and get fast tracked right back out to civilian life. Starbucks is always hiring.
