I’m here at AIT and I have this drill sergeant that absolutely hates everything me and another person in our platoon does the first 2 weeks we did get off on the wrong hand but I just wasn’t use to the freedom coming fresh out of basic I told her that and I’ve been staying under the radar for a while but she just looks for any and everything to chow us out about or give us a counseling so today we had a random room expectation and our rooms got trashed me and the guy she hates also so what she did was thrower everything out our drawers and brought the females to our room and told them that this is how we live and we’re dirty so she took our phones and a couple more guys I gave her a phone but she said I had more than one phone so she made me open my locker and searched through my bags in my locked locker with no permission and found a old phone I was wrong for not turning it in but everyone is telling me to go talk to my 1Sgt because it wasn’t right how I was the only one that got searched and she was never given permission to search any of my personal belongings she just decided to and made me open my locker should I talk to my first sergeant about this? Or is this just something I should just deal with 8 more weeks because I think she is trying to get me put out and I can’t take it

Kid if they bring dogs in even and the dogs sound off on ur stuff they can do anything. they can do it in front of u or when ur not there. I used a certain brand of nationally known vitamins when I was in and the dog would always sound off on my vitamins they even tested them and they tested me every time and I came out clean. My draws were always just turned out on the bed and floor. That happened three or four times when I hit perm. party U clean up and go back to work. I was clean every time so it was something I had to put up with. They have the right to keep the soldiers clean of stuff and if they think only think u have been doing wrong ur on their radar and u opened ur self up for special attention.
And so u know even if u have it documented with signatures from others even on Perm party u will not only likely ruin their career u will find urs done with also.
u put ur self on their radar so u caused what ur getting now.
And u get to have phones in AIT. We didn't get to use phones until they let us in AIT or when they finally started giving us a weekend off here or there to could go us a pay phone. U think u have rights that u really do not have because of the history u created.
And think about this and if this has changed its really gotten stupid lax in the military.
They had the right to do spot inspections on anyone. One person or random. If ur bed was not made right in their eyes they flip it, If u didn't have the clothes all just the way they told u then it was on the floor they see a couple things wrong they just throw everything on the floor and tell u to put it all back and to do it military RIGHT this time.

Wait wait wait!!!! You can have a phone in ait? And you’re sensitive about inspections wth?!? So we are forming an army of sissy’s? I was hoping the rumors of how soft it’s gotten were false, but this ridiculous post confirms it.

A DS hates no one, it’s the head game they play to weed out weak personnel. It may feel she’s picking on you but but remember you were the wrong for keeping things you didn’t report. Ever soldier has to be able to count on one another it’s a tight knit family of trust. If you think your doing something wrong you probably are. Show your DS you can overcome your mistakes. The military is a great life with great friends to last a life time.

My DS tossed my stuff every day. I owe them all my life for the lifelong lessons they provided me. 25 years later and I still remember their names. Look at the big picture or get out.

Wrong the DS is your mother, father, etc as the song goes so buttercup you think that a NCO does not have the right to search only u. Well let me tell you he or she does if they have probable cause.

If you want the military as a career then do what is expected. Experience tells us that there are assholes in every profession so my advice: Suck it up. You want be there forever. Guaranteed your TOE Unit will be better. Hang in there.

The simplest way I can break this down for you is in 4 words: "They say. You do."

MSG (Join to see)
Sadly, SSG (Join to see), there are many young troops that seem to not get/understand/follow this mantra. Even when you break it down Barney style like you did....there are those that will still NOT GET IT.

It's definently a new Army. More worried about your electronics than squaring away your AO. You're setting yourself, and your roommate, up for failure and putting a target on your back for everyone (peers included) to aim at.
Flying under the radar doesn't mean having a history of breaking policy. You "forgot" your phone? You're full of it....that's the most important thing to this generation.
