I’m here at AIT and I have this drill sergeant that absolutely hates everything me and another person in our platoon does the first 2 weeks we did get off on the wrong hand but I just wasn’t use to the freedom coming fresh out of basic I told her that and I’ve been staying under the radar for a while but she just looks for any and everything to chow us out about or give us a counseling so today we had a random room expectation and our rooms got trashed me and the guy she hates also so what she did was thrower everything out our drawers and brought the females to our room and told them that this is how we live and we’re dirty so she took our phones and a couple more guys I gave her a phone but she said I had more than one phone so she made me open my locker and searched through my bags in my locked locker with no permission and found a old phone I was wrong for not turning it in but everyone is telling me to go talk to my 1Sgt because it wasn’t right how I was the only one that got searched and she was never given permission to search any of my personal belongings she just decided to and made me open my locker should I talk to my first sergeant about this? Or is this just something I should just deal with 8 more weeks because I think she is trying to get me put out and I can’t take it

All I can say is that you must be a little snowflake and you should be damn glad you didn’t join the Marine Corps. I certainly glad you didn’t.

Understand one thing about being in the Military. You literally are the property of the US Government. Also while on US Government property you have consented to search and seizure of any and all kinds. You have ZERO rights while on Military property other than due process. It makes no difference whether you are a Soldier or a civilian. So if you are in AIT and whether or not you broke one or no rules a DS has the authority to search you and your property without notice any time he or she wants. If you can't abide by the rules while in AIT, how are you going to obey the rules as a potential leader in the Military. Grow up and get some discipline or your career in the Military will and should be very short.

Step up and stop doing stuff wrong. AIT isn't grade school, it's not basic, where you should have learned something, it's designed to teach you how to fight and survive in combat. Any screwup on your part is detrimental to mission and others.

PVT Jason, don't get offended, it's not personal. Suck it up. You are in a professional force and this is not a game. Go to the NCO you have a beef with in private, ask for a meeting, eat a little crow, be polite, ask for guidance, then get out of that meeting and straighten your shit up. Once you are out of training and in the real military there will not be time for hand holding, and God forbid you need hand holding when it comes time to make the call or bite the dust, or worse, someone you are supporting has to bite it because you couldn't get your head in the right place. Now is the time to get your shit straight, or you need to find another line of work. Keeping your ego and anger in check is step one.

They can search all they want but can't prosecute unless a commander issued a prior search authorization.

The military prepares you for real life worst case scenarios, this is what you've signed up for. Like the 1st Sgt and the SFC mentioned, and as a Ssgt, this is not for everyone, you have broken rules that in real life situations this might jeopardize the lives of your battle buddies. Stay on track and stop posting information that may affect military's principles. I suggest you start on your paperwork and get your freedom back, because it seems you are not a good fit for the job.

Maybe, just maybe, based on what you posted, you don’t understand basic rules, laws and regulations (Also basic grammar. USE PUNCTUATION FOR GOD’s SAKE). You’re definitely in the wrong. Seek out your DS’s advice on how to get back on track.

She doesn't need permission to search your things and they don't do it for no reason. There is always a reason

Now this is some funny stuff here!!! , I'll get to the chase(understand I haven't been in basic training for a while!!!) "YES" I/you/everyone in the Drill Sargent's and training facility are responsible for your safety!!! Having said that, I will add that you have a hard time following orders as per your "STATEMENT" you kept an old phone because "EVERYONE" said to keep it!!!!!!! You are to do as your told by the one in charge!!!
I believe that the Drill Sargents get a bad rap for the job they do, for instance, say everyone is supposed to turn in any weapons they have in their possession when they first arrive and you have an indavidual who keeps their pocket knife and later that indavidual gets mad and slashes several people for what ever reason!!! or an individual eeks through training because they have a problem following orders and are promoted by their leaders because they squeak time much or they're drinking buddies/golf buds, they get promoted for those reasons!!! "BUT" the one who shows leadership with all of the awards they get is passed over just to shut the mouth of a friend of theirs or (as I've heard for my entire career) they just get oiled to stop the squeaking, aka, shut them up!!!
I'm sorry, this is a touchy area for me, I'm not/ever was a Drill Sargent but I am an observer to this day and I've observed a lot of BS, Rocksteady young soldier, get your rank and change things but for now try harder to just "DO WHAT YOU'RE TOLD!!!"

For the love of God, if this isn’t the epitome of a millennial snow flake comment, I don’t know what is. YOU volunteered to join the ARMY, what did you think it was going to be like? Wow... at least there’s some good drills left, though.
