I’m here at AIT and I have this drill sergeant that absolutely hates everything me and another person in our platoon does the first 2 weeks we did get off on the wrong hand but I just wasn’t use to the freedom coming fresh out of basic I told her that and I’ve been staying under the radar for a while but she just looks for any and everything to chow us out about or give us a counseling so today we had a random room expectation and our rooms got trashed me and the guy she hates also so what she did was thrower everything out our drawers and brought the females to our room and told them that this is how we live and we’re dirty so she took our phones and a couple more guys I gave her a phone but she said I had more than one phone so she made me open my locker and searched through my bags in my locked locker with no permission and found a old phone I was wrong for not turning it in but everyone is telling me to go talk to my 1Sgt because it wasn’t right how I was the only one that got searched and she was never given permission to search any of my personal belongings she just decided to and made me open my locker should I talk to my first sergeant about this? Or is this just something I should just deal with 8 more weeks because I think she is trying to get me put out and I can’t take it

Cowboy/cowgirl, you better get it through your thick skull you are not long in the civilian world. you are in a world with a new set of laws, regulations, and customs. (and on top of that you are also liable to the laws outside the chain-link fence too. the sooner you clean up your act and start actin and being a soldier of the army or whatever branch of service you might be in the better off you will be. no there is people you can talk to if you think your DI is on you arse all the time for nothing, but before you talk to them you better make sure all the duck you have in a row belongs to you and no else..

Sounds like a complaint from an entitled Millennial who got caught but can't accept responsibility. Of course this is coming from someone who enlisted at age 25, competed to stay up with the 19 year olds and did so in 1975, before Stress Cards or wet bulb readings

This isnt even a question, you made a choice, deal with it for the next 4 years or ruin your life.

I left active duty as a Major (O4) in 1967. If the Army has changed it's ways to prevent a Platoon Sergeant from searching anyone under her command, then I would fear for the discipline of the troops when the chips are down.

Wait... what... Phone? Two phones? Things have changed since I was in BCT/AIT. Yeah, definitely have a talk with your Top Sergeant. Wear earplugs so you don't suffer a hearing loss and have to be a medical discharge. Good luck.

When you stop to another person level, they have won, AIT is short keep looking forward and be proud of what you accomplished.

You will be better off just going through your 8 weeks and stay out of the DS's way. If you want to show that you have improved, try volunteering for additional duties or assisting a fellow soldier with a deficiency that may help them through training.
If you truly want to stay in and not get picked on or be "hated", do the right thing when no one is looking, maintain your discipline, and set the example.
For you to come this far and to demonstrate that you are undisciplined, shows your lack of engagement and will not look favorable for future opportunities. Tighten up your shot group (discipline) and demonstrate to yourself and your branch of service that you are here to serve.

WOW. When I was in basic, Fort Leonard Wood, MO. I had a platoon sergeant who hit me in the stomach several times, just for general purposes. At Fort Gordon, GA the M.P. School, at the time, our sergeants loved to have you double time around a quarter mile track behind our barracks. This was in May, June and July, now you wore your pack, belt and all the other gear, except our rifle’s. Another favorite was the “dying cockroach position. On your back with arms and legs extended straight up. These were some of things we did when we went brain dead. Our sergeants did not hate us, but used various methods to gain our attention or as a punishment for minor acts of “stupid”. Never once did the thought of complaining to someone enter my mind. It was all part of the training for which I was glad.
