Can a member's HYT be pushed/extended if they are trying to get or are undergoing medical treatment?

This topic came up in a group discussion and no one seemed to know the answer. If a member is about to retire at their HYT date, can that date be extended if they are seeking medical treatment or are already going through some. If they can be extended how long for and for how many times?
