Can a National Guard recruit who hasn't gone to IET change to a different State?

I'm sworn into in the Utah National Guard, and currently drilling with the RSP. I report to Leonard Wood on 07 Jan. Due to deeper circumstances than I'd care to discuss here, we no longer wish to remain in Utah. I know that technically I could serve in Utah and live elsewhere, it's not really feasible (we're looking at NC, SC, or TN) to travel that much as a PFC. Is it possible to unwind the contract *specifically to transfer*? I have zero desire to back out of my service commitment, just to change it to another state.

Each state has a certain strength size, and depending on each individual state you’re looking at will depend if they have room for you. I know that you can request for what they call an “interstate transfer” or IST once your MOSQ, but I don’t know the stipulations of prior to IET. I would do two things: talk to your current recruiter and ask about the IST, and then contact a recruiter in the state you’re looking to transfer to. I wouldn’t think your IET date would change, but I could be wrong.
