Can a soldier be forced to attend an Audie Murphy board?

I have an NCO who is being forced to compete in an Audie Murphy board 8 days after notification. Is there any justification to get him out of it? The 1SG is relentless, and the CSM is unresponsive pertaining to the situation.
This is a good NCO, who doesn't want to make a fool of himself at a prestigious Corps level board.

If this NCO is planning on remaining in the Army, he is going to be faced with these boards. Knowing the answer to every question doesnt help if he is unable to articulate and speak with confidence. He will be under the unblinking eye of Senior NCO's at this board and the troops in his squad the rest of the time.

Everyome else got 30 days notice to go to PNOC...i got 72 hours and graduated second in my class. Dont know what you can do, until you try.

Good NCO should all ready be some what ready for the board and can work with some fellow noncoms to get him up and ready

As an Army NCO, he should already be prepared to go in front of any board. Part of a NCO's job is to think clearly under pressure because we all know things don't always go as planned. So I MO I feel he should go and show them what he knows.
