More update on this issue, one of my Squad Leader submit a compassionate reassignment due to his serious medical condition, there's no treatment for her at Fort Stewart, he submitted his packet thru his Chain of Command and they held to his packet until he was notified the he is been considered to be QMP in this upcoming Board. I just think that it is unfair that they are doing this to him causing him and his family a medical hardship putting him on a hostile environment. Any thoughts on this

I expect that the QMP screening process is run independent of the promotion boards since we are in a drawdown SSG Carlos AcostaCastro. In previous drawdowns any blemishes or other discriminators which separated a candidate for promotion from the pack were useful for board members to use to screen people from promotion.
Your buddy is hopefully talking to JAG already. They could steer him towards making a good decision and perhaps even represent him in the process or more likely help with the appeal. The biggest factor will probably be whether or not he is able to retire based on times served.

Well in the past it used to be two separate things
QMP usually was the result of some red flag

Of course. Not validating doesn't mean you aren't getting looked at, it just means you didn't validate. If that was the case, no one with shoddy records would validate...

He had 3/4 NCOER and he bounce back with a 3/3 and a 2/2 in his last 2 NCOERS, not to mention his leadership in which he had a 3/4 never approached him nor mentored him
