Can a Warrant Officer be assigned as a Company Commander for a Recruiting Company?

Not anymore. There used to be a WO Recruiting Company at FT Knox until late 2010 but then it deactivated and they splipted into recruiting teams along the 4 ARSOF Recruiting companies with the Senior WO becaming the program manager at SORB HQs, for C2. I was blessed by getting the 1st team in 2011 and also co-located the program's office with my company at Ft Bragg. Nevertheless, it has evolve a bit on the last 4 years.

Yes. As long as they are commissioned. I know a Senior chief that is the HHC Commander at WOCC. AR 600-20 Para 2-17f.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one. In the National Guard I know of some warrants that are in charge, but in Recruiting I have not seen it in 15yrs currently. Not saying that it can't happen but current "unwritten" rule in wont happen

I hear what you are saying but AR 600-20 The Army Command Policy, para 2-17f and para 1-5 say that it is possible. I have seen two Warrant Officers take command of a Company, and one Command a Detachment. The current HHC Commander of WOCC is a Warrant that I have known since 1995.

Warrant officers can command, it's just unlikely outside of the boat community. As long as there is at least one commissioned officer around in the unit, even a 2LT, warrant officers will not get the command. The exception of course being units that don't have commissioned officers in them.

Not sure about recruiting, but other elements can be. We had a number of postal DETs commanded by a single warrant, as he was the only officer available who was branch qualified. This made for an interesting first staff briefing to our CG, as he had to get up to brief three consecutive commands. By the third one, the CG was wondering if we were putting him on, so our Brigade Commander had to explain the situation. Of course, someone then said that he was an army of one...

No, in my 15 year experience with USAREC, a Captain or Major needs to be assigned. I know that warrant officers were positioned in recruiting companies long ago. In this day and age, an experienced officer must be present to maintain UCMJ, promotions, evaluations, awards etc....it is not practical to have a warrant.

Yes, they can; the primary requirement is that they be commissioned.
I've known a CW2 who met tenure as the commander of an inland cargo transfer company, and I have 6 months command time with a MP battalion HHC.
It's not that uncommon on the Reserve side.

As far as I'm tracking, no. Warrant Officers can Command vessels and certain companies and detachments, but I've never heard of a Warrant Officer commanding a recruiting unit. Technically it could be possible but I've never heard of it being done.

They should as they are commissioned officers. At a point of time Usarec had in plans for a Regional Technician below a company commander.

Im in the process of dropping a Warrant or OCS Packet and i was just thinking about when it comes time to broaden if i would be able to command a recruiting station near home as a warrant.

While it is AR600-20 possible, I think it is highly unlikely that would happen. Sorry to be the dream killer, but I am being honest.
