SSG are accepted into the course but SFC have to submit a waiver. Most of the waivers seem to be approved.

There was some good responses in a recent, similar post. I'd suggest going though the comments and connecting with the individuals who offered some help.
Becoming a flight medic? | RallyPoint
I'm sure the question has been asked before, if so, could someone point me in the direction of that thread. Anyway I'm seriously interested in going flight medic. Been one of the main things I've wanted in my military career. Anyone have any tips or suggestions on how to go about getting myself in a position to do so? I've heard so many things about how to become one but never any solid directive. Any insight would be appreciated.

A large portion of the 68W30 slots in the CAB (Aviation Brigades) are for flight medics. You don't have to be in a flight slot or CAB to go - we recently had SSGs assigned to us for the first time. Do the paperwork for the school house, there is always a shortage. Make sure you can pass the flight physical req.

Drop the packet. I'm at Ft. Rucker and they need the F2 immediately almost regardless of rank

Get into a unit that has flight medics and get an approved class 3 flight physical and go from there. Just got to make sure there is an E-6 slot. Start progression from RL3 to RL1

Absolutely! I've seen plenty of E6's and even a few E7's go through the course. (That said, the E-7's were already members of the unit and flying for awhile)

thanks for taking the time to answer, seems any more soldiers don't know what options are out there for them. Some soldiers are happy to stay put, and some need to be challenged.
