Can an Army Infantryman wear both the EIB and CIB on the uniform? What happens if you get both?

Badges are ordered in precedence by the group of the badge, not the individual badge within the group. CIB, EIB, and CAB are Group 1 badges, which have a higher precedence than the EFMB and EMB, which are Group 2.

"a. Listed below in order of group precedence are combat and special skill badges authorized for wear on the Army uniform." Para 20-16, DA Pam 670-1

I understand that part, but I have never seen someone who was authorized to wear the CIB and the EIB, choose to wear the EIB.

The wearer gets to decide. If I were in a infantry Bn and everyone had CIB and I had both I would wear EIB it would be the harder to get award. Anybody can get shot at if you are in an infantry mos serving an infantry slot you get it. Sort of like a purple heart you get a little wound caused by enemy action it draws blood a medic applies bandage you qualify. now some really get damaged lost limbs etc for the same award. I am an older generation Combat vet and appreciate all of yalls taking a turn on the wall

SSG (Join to see) - BINGO, and the CSM doesn't catch everything with his walk arounds. They really need to survey EIB participants as to the fairness of each station at the end of the EIB competition because believe it or not there are NCO's out there who think the competition should be more of a hazing.

SPC Erich Guenther - I don't think candidates should wear rank during EIB testing for starters. It creates a hostile testing environment.

SSG (Join to see) - I went through three EIB's, the only one that I felt was trully fair was on the one administered by the 101st. Removing rank will not do much because the NCO's for the EIB are selected from the BN and typically most are from the Company going through. So you have favoritism towards some, others are on some unknown and unwritten NCO shit list somewhere, still others are subjected to "I had to fail a couple of EIB's before I got mine so you do too". All of it crap and demeaning of the EIB competition as a whole. I was really surprised when I saw my last one administered fairly but 101st had a great NCO corps. As a whole I think the Army should clean-up the EIB competitions if they have not already. Another hot button subject but same way with Airborne school, if your going to over book the damn Airborne school don't take it out on the students by gigging them on complete bullshit the first few days. I understand maintaining a standard but I do not understand signing up more people for a school than can possibly attend it......and doing so repeatedly. So that the NCO's are forced to cut people no matter what. I have been out so long, who knows maybe they fixed the over enrollment in Airborne School as well.

SSG (Join to see) It sounds great in theory! But in practice... I got negatively counseled and rehab transfered for failing my BC on a PT test. Almost none of his push-ups were to standard. 1, 2, 3, 3, 4, not down fat enough 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 8, 9, 10, 11, 11, 11, 11. Sir, go all the way down. 11, 11, 11, all the way down, 12, 12, 13, all the way down.........

It is done every single year in peacetime or at least it was done every year when I served. You can't do that in wartime for exactly the reasons stated above. The prep time it takes to set it up and plan for it. Also, why would you do that in wartime anyway? Your supposed to be reading your troops for actual combat.

It's not a medal either, like medals though usually shtf -that's why you get it so if you get one you get one if you don't you don't, the EIB can be obtained though and is a respectable award
