Officially. No. If you're conducting Army business, you need to be on orders or at Drill. We both know this.

... That said. There's been a couple of these questions lately. The real question is, is this something that could have been done at BA, but wasn't because the Commander didn't want to keep everyone until midnight?

Is this something for your career, that you need done?

Many times in the Reserves it's better to work on your own time, theoretically unpaid, then deal with the hassles of doing it the... Right way.

It's an inventory that they are calling it Maintenance Stand Down Plan of Action, because according to the battalion commander last battle assembly, the plan of action is for the companies to utilize their equipment on battle assembly weekends. So unit/company decided to tell the detachment NCO's the certain soldiers will be put on orders and this was put out two weeks ago and still noone has any orders we only have the battle assembly/drill schedule and this dates on not on there, but the unit wants us to come in on Monday thru Wednesday for this inventory. Also they are using an excel spreadsheet only listing the soldiers info and calling it orders.
As for myself I'm on my way back to active duty I really don't understand much of the Army Reserve ways. I already got my release from the reserves and just waiting to got to meps.

Without orders, I would say no, now they can ask for volunteers and maybe pay them thru some other means like an ADT, but that is usually only about half of one day of drill pay. And there or only so many of them allowed, since most funds are limited.

Negative, not without some sort of documentation in place to get you paid. As such, you would either have to be on your BTA weekend, on official orders (with an actual orders #), or on RST status. The one loophole is that you can come into your Reserve Center and work with RMA funds, which just needs a 1380 filled out and processed for pay. But, simply being told that your name is on a spreadsheet and that spreadsheet is being used as orders is a NO GO and they can go kick bricks.

It's amazing they're doing this, I have heard of other soldiers in this unit were told the same thing, so they can pack up equipment for a move that never happened and they never got paid. I don't want this to happen to me. Also they're saying that this is days for the annual training they had to cancel two days prior to annual training but they only have 15 soldiers on this excel list. Personally I don't trust it and I been through a lot of getting screwed that I'm very hesitant to do anything without any documentation.

If you joined the Reserves for an extra payday, you joined for the wrong reason.

Excuse me Specialist, I don't comprehend your answer towards my question. where in my question did I mention that I affiliated into the Army Reserves from Active duty for money. I'm just trying to get some feedback and understanding how the Army Reserves works because majority of my Military service has been on Active Duty, please if you don't have informative feedback for example an Army Regulation towards my question don't answer my question.

Excuse me SGT, if you are using a loosely formed web site of people that come on as experts, rather than looking to the AR yourself, don't reply to my post.
