Both members receive BAH according to their location as if they are single airmen. If you have dependents then the ranking parent receives the dependent rate.

Ok, system glitched. My question, so my wife and I are dual military. She is stationed at Ft. Drum and is a Sgt/E-5. IM stationed at Ft. Eustis (We were stationed apart prior to Marriage, so MACP doesn't play into this). The policy at Ft. Drum is that if you are an E-5, you live in the barracks. Since we are dual military, and not assigned together, she has to live in the barracks, and does not get to collect BAH. Now this doesn't make sense to me. If I were to visit my spouse, we have no where to stay unless we come out of pocket additionally to stay in a hotel, instead of a house, or apartment. Sm that are married to civilian spouses have more rights and live off post, but two NCOs are restricted. Does this make sense to anyone else? And this is in no way a discussion about should Dual Military both get BAH..

SFC (Join to see) - Well crap. It seems we have been giving CNA's to the married people as the barracks were full. (per S1) They also said the barracks utilization is high enough (for us) to warrant it.

SFC (Join to see) the only other thing I could see is give her the kids and then she would be with dependents and you still are authorized BAH at the without dependent rate at Eustis. I know it uproots the kids but it is a solution to the problem potentially.
