An old friend of mine randomly posted a photo of himself in OCP’s with LTC rank. He told everyone that he just joined the Army Rerserves. I asked him what unit, and he told me it’s the 101st Airborne. He has a BS in nursing. He’s 45 years old. He’s not on ako or on enterprise. My question is, does this story smell fishy?

Check with the VFW or the American Legion, they may be able to help. Anybody who impersonate a military person or pretends he was in the military is against the law. Me being a Marine will and eont stand for that kind of bull. Butt whopping time if not real.

If u think he is full of B S get his name, rank, and go to the VFW or the American Legion. I also think it is against the lew to impersonate military. If he is no former Military kick his but. This Marine would.

He has a BS alright. B*** S*** !!! Doctors are officers. Nurses and corpsmen (anybody other than doctors) are generally enlisted or of lower rank (must take into account for time in service also). For him to have just joined the reserves and be commissioned a LtCol is HIGHLY unlikely. Ask to see his military ID picture. His rank will also be on the ID.

He has an awful lot of fruit salad for having "just joined".

I would have to say no if you have been in for anytime you are on AKO just to do your medical you have to be on AKO. Also the 101st does not have any reserve units. Now once you retire you go way in 60 days like you where never in the military

Yes, only a nurse walking in as a LTC? I have only heard of expienced (10+ years in practice) doctors being offered that.
I would also like to add, any health care officer that is not a board certified doctor, should have their rank capped at captain.

I just left the Nurse Corps. FIrst of all, if he "just" joined, he must have had an age waiver because the cutoff age for Commission when i did it in 2013 was age 42..he is 45! Secondly, new joins start at 2LT unless they are an experiencsd RN in a critically low specialty...and even then they sure as heck don't start off as a LTC! I call BS on your fake friend. A few god qusstions should suss him out, ie MOS is 66H, BOLC training is at Ft Sam Houston, etc. GIVE HIM A GOOD SMACK FOR ME. THANKS.

It sounds VERY Fishy..... First of all, So he has a BS in Nursing. As a LTC, which is considered as a leadership Rank, he would have to have at least some kind of extra schooling such as War College, or even a Masters Degree.

If it smells like a fish, it's probably a fish. It certainly smells fishy to me.
