Can anyone explain if this guy I know is pretending to be a LTC?

An old friend of mine randomly posted a photo of himself in OCP’s with LTC rank. He told everyone that he just joined the Army Rerserves. I asked him what unit, and he told me it’s the 101st Airborne. He has a BS in nursing. He’s 45 years old. He’s not on ako or on enterprise. My question is, does this story smell fishy?

ABSOLUTELY.
Nurses are not given any advanced rank. 101st Airborne is active duty only. Maximum age for enlisting as officer is 29, i think, it may be 35.

We would bring in highly skilled surgeons into the Navy Reserves as an O-4 and a Nurse with advanced degrees and training as an O-3, but they were very rare.

Yes it does sound fishy with a capitol F. Ask him what hospital unt he was assigned to. Or ask him to send you a photo of his military id

He is medical. I am a doctor and went in as a 2nd Lt during med school. When I graduated med school, I was promoted to Captain. Now 6 years in, i am a Major. There were people with tons of experience and skills that they came in at LTC at OCS. He might be a nurse anesthetists. That is my take.
