Can anyone give me a little some insight on what I will do as a 131A assigned to a special forces unit?

I am trying to find some insight from a field Artillery targeting technician assigned to a special forces unit. I have been preparing my warrant packet and will soon be complete. Interested in the actual position duties associated

That makes more sense now. However, you should call one of the active duty 131A's that's assigned to an SF unit nearest to you and schedule a meeting. With all deployments it's difficult to get a hold of someone right away. Be prepared to have to drive out to Fort Bragg or Fort Campbell. You won't regret it. As far as going to WOBC, go to the same course as the active duty 131A's. Otherwise you're setting yourself up for failure if you try to go one month per year at a time. This is NOT a simple MOS and the Infantry Brigade/SF Group Commanders are not very patient with officers that don't know their jobs. So make sure that's something you consider.

I have opted the active duty warrant officer courses. Hopefully, I can get in touch with one of those guys via RallyPoint. I would love to sit down with an active component 131a. I really appreciate you responding, and realistic commentary. Cause y’all are really hard to find lol. I felt weird reaching out like this but it seems to be working!!

To include former 11Cs so they can share their experience and thoughts on their transition to becoming a 131A

Chances are you won't go to an SF unit straight out of school. And I would never recommend for anyone to ever do that. You need to have some experience (as a 132A) so that you can properly make recommendations that make sense. As far as duties and responsibilities, this is not the venue for that. I recommend that you drive out to one of those units once you get to your first duty station and meet with one of those 131A's so you get solid advise. You should focus on getting your packet together so you get selected on your first look. Then Focus on getting scheduled for WOCS, then WOBC, etc. Don't forget that the assignments officer has a final say as well so get your pitch ready for when you meet him.
