Can anyone give me information on 35T AIT as an MOS-T or in general? I would like to leave my family behind due to have 3 dogs?

BAH is low compared to what most houses rent for in Sierra Vista, AZ. Any insight on how AIT will be?

As a MOS-T, you really got the best of both worlds. First, you don’t really have any accountability formations or anything, besides checking in twice a day while you’re waiting to get slotted for the course. Second, you won’t be expected to be a leader for any of the IET students.
One thing I would caution though: If you’re not used to high altitude, prepare to have your PT suffer. Really take the time once you get here to acclimate and don’t worry if you’re not running as fast as you once were. Also, the average wait list for on post housing is 6-8 weeks, so plan ahead or live in the barracks. Let me know if there is anything else you need.

Do you know if it is possible to just stay in the barracks instead of moving my family? I heard it would be considered A PCS so I would not be able to do that. How you you say the course is? I’m re-enlisting to reclass from 68w.

I mean, I know there are guys who have families who are staying in the barracks. I’m sure if you explained the situation to the commander you could get an exception of policy memo. But like I said, the situation here is pretty fluid, so if you decide later on that you want your family here, you’ll have the time to decide.
