I’ve been thinking really heavily about joining 160th soar. Can anyone give me some insight on being a 15p while in 160th? How is the lifestyle for families(wife and two kids)?

If you are selected it means that you are a cop notch. If you pass the 160th selection screening and evaluation process you are truly best of the best. Expect high operational deployment tempo and training. FRG network is also top notch

Talk to a 160th recruiter. You can find a recruiter and more info at https://goarmysof.com/160th/.
You can expect more frequent training exercises and deployments, but for a much shorter time period than regular Army. It’s a professional organization, they treat you like an adult and expect you to conduct yourself in a professional manner. It’s a whole different world than regular Army. If that’s something you want to do I encourage you to follow your dreams while you’re at the beginning of your career. If the opportunity presents itself, grab it.

1. You DO NOT join the 160th, you are selected/invited- they are the cream of the crop, and are very selective, and for good reasons. If they select you, then it says that you are the cream of the crop in your MOS. Like other units who are spear points, it is hard on families- NO notice alerts, deployments, etc. Your wife can even watch CNN like mine did in the 82nd, cause the 160th is always under the radar,

Join nearly 2 million former and current members of the US military, just like you.
