I'm probably going to have to stay in a hotel for a couple weeks after I report to Ft Sam with with my wife next month. Trying to find a decent place that has a kitchen with a stove top so we don't have to eat out all of the time. I've been searching around but most places just have kitchenettes with microwaves, fridges, and sinks. Had a bad experience with Extended Stay so that's off the list.

Check out Hotel Alsace out in Castroville, CPT (Join to see). My parents were residents at Air Force Village on Highway 90, and Hotel Alsace took good care of my wife and I when we were back in San Antonio for funeral arrangements. I remember kitchenettes, but I may be mistaken.

Thank you, sir. I haven't stayed in one for a while, but I don't remember Embassy Suites having stovetops. A lot of times it seems like the pictures of the kitchen areas aren't the best. I looked into Home2 and they looked really nice (nice looking gym for the wife to use while e're getting set up) but no stovetop. I still might go with them regardless and we'll have to make it work. Homewood Suites looks nice but they may be over the price limit. I'm trying to find out whether or not I am capped at the local per diem rate (120) or the usual cost of lodging on post (around 100, but they are sold out). I've been given both answers so far.
