I am currently in the 35th. I have spent over 6 years in the 35th / 67th. I was a platoon sgt and CPN section sgt. The optempo is high. There is a bunch of great leadership through 67th ESB and 35th sig Bde. I'm also a SSg 25q. Make sure you live in Columbia County.

I'm in 67th esb, Charlie company. From my experience you're going to be expected to know your job. If you don't know it be forthright and willing to learn because there are a lot of good operators in this battalion. I can only guess that the rest of 35th is the same way. Where are you coming from?

I should have paid more attention to the original post. I guess my answer wouldn't be much help to you. With that said, Grovetown is right outside of post and is a popular area for military families to live.

SSGT, I was at Ft. Gordon for my AIT for 25Q training. I can briefly explain the area it is. There is Barton Field which is the main field used for PT. The distance of the track is roughly 3.25 miles. There is the main PX which is about a 5-10 minute walk from the water tower (near there are the barracks for TRADOC's C.Co 369th Signal Battalion, called RBK's). Across the street from the PX is the main commissary.
Honestly do not know about the active duty side of Ft Gordon. But I do have buddies that are stationed there.
About the weather, if you are allergic to pollen, just be prepared. I think about this time, the pollen should still be in the air. Dont know how it is during the rest of the year, since I was only there for training from Dec 2015-Apr 2016.
