Hello every one, I am stationed in Fort Sill Ok, however my wife has just landed an amazing job in Oklahoma City Oklahoma (OKC). This job is a hug leap forward in her career and we decided that she should not let it pass her by. Her and my two children will be moving up there next month. Is it posable to change my BAH rate to match the OKC area?

Fort Sill BAH is 1212.00 and the area in witch she will be living is 1545.00

I'm not a finance expert by any means, but I was always under the impression that your BAH is dependent on your duty location. If you're stationed at Fort Sill, regardless of where you choose to live, you will receive Fort Sill BAH.

No. You are paid at the rate where you are stationed, regardless of where your family resides.

There are exceptions to this (such as unaccompanied tours) but none for situations like this.

If the DoD were to allow this, every family in the military would somehow be residing in San Francisco, NYC, Alexandria, or Honolulu. At least on paper.

Exactly the only exception is restricted short tour PCS moves! If they stay at last duty station it is that rate or if you move them home for example during that short tour they will pay for the move and BAH at that location until you return!

BAH is based on your duty station.
