Can I claim additional disability after already having joined a Reserve unit?

Currently at 40% , I was 4 years actice army and recently came out the IRR for the reserves. I claimed my knees before i joined my reserve unit however they did not see me, so i planned to call them for a disabilty appointment, but will i be able to recieve extra disability since im in a unit now?

I don't know the rules on drilling reservists and disability, you'll have to speak to the recruiter who knows the current regulations.
But I had heard that you cannot be in the active Reserve or National Guard if you have higher than 30%... or if you receive VA disability- then they will reduce you benefits based on your pay.

Sgt Matt Hall - you are probably okay to be in the reserves then. I'm not sure on the pay aspect- but DFAS could deduct some of your monthly pay for the disability from your drill check. You'll have to speak with DFAS or your UA who handles pay to get the final word on the processing for pay.
