I passed the board recently and now im being told i may have to be a CPL until i go to BLC or until i get back from ranger school. I dont want to take responsibility as a team leader and still get paid as a SPC. Can i deny a 4187 ?

If I was your 1SG or CSM you’d be lucky to get a class on police call once I read this, you sound like exactly what the Army doesn’t need.

You signed up for promotions and if you cannot be a leader without being paid then you should not have joined. My Dad got a "field promotion", did not like it but took on the challenge and did so very well with it and got paid once he returned stateside.

My son was an E4 working an E6 billet, he didn’t get a penny more. You do what you have to do I guess, so you essentially got your line number, if you plan to get out your ok I’d guess, your just EAS, you want to stay in you killed your career.

Be very careful, this type of attitude can be seen by your leadership as laziness or just plain immaturity. They have selected you for the job because they great potential in you. This can derail your young career.
