I have a metal plate in my hand that i didnt tell meps about when i enlited. I'm in BCT still and was wonderjng if this is grounds for epts.

I also have been having some mental problems that my battle buddies say i should get seen for. How do i initiate a visit to the psych ward?

You are allowed to use the internet in basic training? Why did you not report the metal plate at MEPS? Why are you on here instead of talking to your Drill Sergeant if this is a real post?

PV2 (Join to see) - Have you tried talking to a chaplain or telling your Drill Sergeant that you want to talk to a mental health professional? Why did you not report the metal plate at MEPS?

Sgt (Join to see) my recruiter to me the metal olate woul bar me from enlistment so i didnt mention it.

I have been to CMHS but they said they cant really do anything. I may request a viit with chaplain tomorrow, or even ask my DS. But the DS think all mental disorders are fake, really. Thats what they told me.

PV2 (Join to see) - Your recruiter was wrong and so were you for not mentioning the metal plate in your hand at MEPS. Mental health is important and can be treated. You have a plan unless another responder comes up with a better plan.

God bless- Ok Bob-1 You lied to MEPS, that is fraudulent enlistment- an immediate boot to the street. 2. You don't start a Psych period. You report problem- they send you to sick call- Medics then send you higher if necessary. If you are telling the truth and are on a computer during BCT, then I'm delusional, but I'm thinking you are trolling without a full deck.

Why would you spend your time talking to us instead of talking to your family or SO

My advice to you is suck it up and don't tell anyone for at least 180 days. That way when you do tell them you can get court martialed and a dishonorable discharge...

Can I get EPTS for having a metal plate in my hand? Also, what are some ways I can get admitted for a psych eval?

I’m assuming you are looking for a way out of the Army. Go to your Drill Sergeant and tell him you would like to speak to the 1SG using his open door policy. Tell him the exact story you posted here. You will be out in less than a week.

When I was in Basic I usually had a rifle in my hand. I would have caught holly hell if I'd have walked around with a metal plate in my hand.

I just don't get it. Why would anyone lie to get into the military and then try to weasel out before finishing BCT? This has douchebag written all over it.

You’ve quickly earned yourself a boot to the street. As soon as you report that you may or may not be having issues with said hand, the doc is going to check your records and not see it. You are going to to likely earn yourself an uncategorized discharge or other than honorable discharge for lying on your documents
