If I go from army guard to active duty and I'm scheduled for WLC in July but don't attend before I have to report, can they take my E5 rank? I was promoted before the new STEP system.

When I did that many years ago, reserve to active duty, back then you were reduced one rank or pay grade. Sorry, don't know about now.

I dont know why it would be a problem national gaurd and reserves deploy more than active units.

If you were deployed they can only drop you to your deployed rank. So if you were a E-5 deployed then No. If not then Yes.

Yes. Without PLDC/WLC/BLC (or whatever new name they come up with next week), you will be reduced to E4. If you are past the active duty RCP for an E4, you won't be able to enlist. I would suggest knocking out the school 1st.

Yes, you will most likely be reduced to E4. This should be stated in your contract. Most likely depending on your MOS you can board for promotable status and when the points get applied you will make the list. I boarded within 2 months for return of P status after rank reduction to reclass. You may find as I did you may not have enough points for promotion again active. Of course things are changing so much there may be a new AR.

SFC Olivero Rodriguez especially when that combat vehicle has some parts built in that Congressman's District. A lot of the major weapons systems subcontract out so that most of the states gets part of the action and no congressman likes to cut a program that might cut jobs in his or her district.

Years ago I was planning on switching from Guard to Active as an E-6 and was told that I would most likely be reduced down to E-4 or even E-3, but would gain it back quickly. I had worked hard for my E-6 so I decided to transfer to the reserves and keep my rank.
