Can I re-enlist for 50 months instead of 5 years?

If I re-enlist for 4years which is equivalent to 48 months and I have one month left until I ETS, technically I am only adding 47months to my contract if I re-enlist until I have one month left. Would it be okay to re-enlist to 50months instead of 5years? Is this allowed?
