Can I stay in on-post housing if my wife and kid move back to the states?

She was recently informed of an amazing job opportunity back in the states, if it is confirmed, we've already had the talk and we're both ok with them moving back to the states, but the wife wants to make sure I can stay in our current house, so that I do not have to move back into the barracks. I have 2 more years here in Germany.

No, If your spouse leaves you would have to give up your house. You would also need to do an EROD (Early return of Dependents). I believe that you can get into some trouble for her leaving and remaining in housing but I'm not entirely sure. However, if she is going to go back to the states it's in your best interest to give up the housing. Once you do you'll be eligible to recieve BAH based on the location of your spouse.

You will almost certainly need to move into the barracks, but you can try for an exception to policy and see where that goes. Most likely, the limited amount of on-base housing will get you moved to the barracks.

Two years? My advice, move into the barracks and free up the housing for another family.
