Can I still get surgery if the med board tells me they want to reclass me instead of giving me an out date?

I have two decisions med board or surgery. I re injured my shoulder while in the army recently and I was told by my doctor I need surgery or I can go to a med bird I personally do not want surgery for my own long list of reasons I would rather be med boarded out however the doctor told me they might want to reclass me instead and I don’t want to do that either I would rather take surgery. My question is does anyone know if I go to the med board if they try to reclass me will I still have the option to do surgery?
