I have BLC scheduled at Ft McCoy for early September this year. I'm super excited and preparing for it (PT) for months. My unit took my PT test every month before BLC just want to make sure I can pass it then. I have 3 PT scores on PT card and the average is above 250.
Unfortunately, I rolled my ankle and fell badly on my knee while practice running. My ankle is still swelling and I only have 1 week before I leave for BLC. I visited the doctor and get a temp profile for 1 month for no running, no jumping. I informed my squad leader and training sergeant for my injury, waiting for their response still.
I feel so bad about myself and worried about my slot. Can I still go BLC with a temp profile? What should I do now...?

Honestly, it depends on what your PULHES is and what your Army issues profile says. If you cannot complete the requirements for BLC you can’t go. Don’t beat yourself up over it. You’ll get another opportunity to go. If you need to take the time to heal, do so. No school is worth permanently injuring yourself. You’re only given one body. Take care of it.

Thank you sergeant! This is very helpful. My understanding is No-Go for temp profile..

SSG Siaea, thank you for having a copy of the regulation. Now their is no question about what this Soldier needs to do. It's good to see Sergeants take initiative to go that extra step to get the answers Soldiers needs. Thank you for taking that extra step.

Does your profile allow you to do the walk or any of the other alternate events? If so I think you should still be able to go and take the alternate events for the APFT. If not, get off profile and deal with the ankle pain for the 2 miles you have to run, and finish the school.

1SG (Join to see) Rodger that First Sergeant. Do I need to visit certain doctor to get an “Army issued profile”? What I have now is the prescription from a civilian hospital.

1LT(P) (Join to see) Yes, you need to speak to your unit for the process to do that. You should notify everyone via email NLT tomorrow, so everyone has time to make things happen.
