Can I transfer from the Army Reserves IRR to another Branch of Reserves?

While in the Army IRR, you are owned by the Army until your whole time is done. For further guidance, speak to your nearest Recruiter to get all the info you will need IOT switch branches.

You can absolutely switch at any time.

I did...but make sure you get enough points to have a good year for retirement every year. I knew many who took pauses in inactive Reserves and were unable to retire later. I only made it to 16 good years in a span of 30 years. I jumped ship to 3 different branches.

Ive had Soldiers transfer from the guard to the reserves and vice versa while in the IRR.
