I went from USMC to Army. I did inter service transfer. I enlisted back in April of this year, couple weeks ago I went to S1 to get my ERB fixed as far ribbons and DOR, S1 told me it's not possible. Is there any regulation that states that ? Or they do not know, since not every S1 clerk has to dial with it on the daily basis.

It's in AR 600-20 Army Command Policy under the section called Enlisted date of rank. Short answer is no your DOR from any other service except NG and USAR does not transfer. Certain awards, BASD, PEBD, DIEMS, and most military education will transfer though

SPC (Join to see) simply put, his unit was incorrect. If he promotes too early and HRC audits his promotion and find that he should not have been eligible for promotion with the correct date of rank, they will revoke his promotion

SPC (Join to see) I hope I answered all your questions. Prior service frequently have jacked up records and incorrect dates for service. If you have any other issues that you can't get answers for, feel free to reach out

SFC (Join to see) Thank you SFC Boyd, it's a new organization still trying to understand and acknowledge the difference of the Army from what I used to. But will do for sure. Thank you again for your time SFC Boyd.

If you have not been promoted since you enlisted in the Army your DOR should be your enlistment date in the Army, AR 600-8-19 para 1-14a(4)(a). If you are trying to adjust your DOR to include you TIG in the USMC the clerk is correct, you cannot.

Good Morning MSG, the only reason I am saying this is because my friend that was stationed with me did the same thing, and they adjusted his stuff according to his USMC ERB, Except BLC. Also on HRC website on IST programm it does say it wont change. I am trying to figure out if there is black on white somewhere. But thank you I will read that reg, today.

I re read your comment, and you said since I have not been promoted since I enlisted, what happens if USMC promoted me once I was already in AIT ? I logged in to see if my friends got promoted on IRR, same MOS. And I looked at my name and it said E5. I am still popping on MOL(ako for USMC) but my grade is E5, what happens in that case ?

SPC (Join to see) - Once you enlisted in the Army, your USMC promotion would have been erroneous. When I indicated if you had not been promoted it was because if the Army had promoted you, the new date of rank would have been the effective date of the promotion not your enlistment date.

Talk to the officer in charge of S1 - not the clerk.

I was planning on doing it today, since I know couple people that everything got updated, neither of us had break in service. And we got out the same rank, just different DOR. But thank you SFC Talph E Kelly.
