Can I wear my UCP cold weather coat over my OCP uniform?
Here's where things DO get Hooah: We are not issued Multicam/Scorpion patterned gear unless you deploy and go through RFI. For soldiers like myself, who purchased the new uniform, we still have UCP-patterned gear. I wore the UCP cold-weather over my OCP uniform (and I totally understand how jacked up it looks, but had no option) and a 1SG of another company tells me the 10th MAN DIV SGM put out that doing that was unauthorized. I then spoke to my PSG, he said it's authorized but discouraged. Company 1SG said it's authorized, CO said it's authorized but wants to see the policy that was put out stating it.
I HAVE looked. Maybe my Google-fu is rusty. I am not finding anything answering this question, but I haven't stopped searching. Since I found this such a hard question with blurry answers, I thought it'd be good to discuss and debate on Rallypoint. Thoughts? Anyone have their own post policies with authorizations about this? Has it just been a by-commander thing so far? I don't recall anything about this in AR 670-1; only that you can't mix, say, your UCP trousers with OCP coat, or wear the new shirt with the old uniform. Nothing about cold-weather clothing - or even body armor, etc., for that matter.

You are allowed to mix and match OCIE equipment unless it is the OEF-CP patterned equipment, since multicam is trademarked.

Check out the table at the bottom. Short version: you can wear UCP gear with your OCP uniform until 1 October, 2019, but it has to be 100% UCP. No mixing and matching.
US Army Issues Implementation Details For OCP Transition - Soldier Systems Daily
Today, the Army officially announced that OCP uniforms would be available in US Army clothing sale stores 1 July, 2015. They also released these slides which detail how the uniforms are to be worn. The information is in line with the draft ALARACT we recently spoke about except they’ve relented on headgear for the OCP variants which can now be worn with the MultiCam or Scorpion versions. You really need to go back and read the draft ALARACT...
